Quit nicoteen easily with this breathing method

Breathing air will become more pleasurable than having a cigarette with this method for giving up cigarettes.

I used this self hypnosis or meditative breathing technique years ago to stop smoking. I find nowadays that it is unnecessary to continue using it as the possibility of a relapse is close to zero. However I do find that I still use the meditation technique sometimes in my day to day life.

When I can’t get to sleep at night or when I simply want to relax this breathing method is extremely successful.

Nice to come across a website on quitting smoking that isn’t trying to sell you some new fangled program or pill … or whatever.

Another problem with the ‘quit smoking industry’ is the belief that making people feel bad and guilty about smoking will help them quit.

Doesn’t work for the majority. Makes us want to smoke more if anything.

The fact is: quitting smoking is incredibly easy – when you now how.

Another fact rarely discussed is that smoking can be an enjoyable activity. Which means – starting to smoke again after quitting is all too easy.

In light of this I think the techniques you promote here have a lot of merit.

    keep up the good work

I have to admit, I now realise that back in my old smoking days, one of the reasons I smoked was just to get some air into my lungs.

Isn’t it perverse that the only time a smoker takes a deep breath is when he takes a drag on a cigarette. The rest of the time he (or she) has trained themselves to shallow breath in order to stop coughing!

After many many failed attempts my husband and myself both quit “for good” in may 1996 and have been 100% smoke free ever since… I know one thing once you do manage to quit you never regret it – the only thing you regret is the amount of money you wasted on your smoking habit!

    Hello Simon,
Your article in ezinearticles.com makes a lot of sense to me. Especially when you talk about the negativity that surrounds a cigarette smoker which makes it difficult for them to give up plus the negativity that surrounds the act of giving up. We’re damned before we even try. That’s why I would urge people to consider lifting that negativity before they try to stop and just try to believe that it’s easy.

Very true what you say, Tips on stopping smoking, about deep breathing when you’re a smoker.

Jackie, thank you for sharing with us. Yes, must have been a lot of money – I smoked between 1986-2004 – cigs were really expensive when I stopped.
